TGB are the outcome of a business relationship dating back to 1965 with Vespa, a scooter manufacturer from Italy. Vespa themselves have been manufacturing scooters since 1946. This relationship, with one of the world's best known scooter manufacturers, helped TGB develop the leading scooter technologies it draws upon today.

TGB itself was founded in 1976, over 30 years ago, from that initial relationship with Vespa. Due to contractual limitations, TGB are not permitted to sell scooters in their home market of Taiwan. This has forced TGB from its very beginnings to focus on western markets and thus TGB are accustomed to achieving the high quality and reliability demanded of European scooter riders.

Today, 60 years after that first relationship with Vespa, TGB scooters meet and exceed the standards of the world's best known scooter manufacturers; they are extremely reliability, robust and styled to appeal to the discerning British rider.
